ABOUT FADIA Also known as the “One Woman Bandit,” Fadia Patterson has been telling stories for 15 years. She currently works in Tampa, Florida as an award-winning multimedia journalist for Spectrum Bay News 9. Fadia Patterson is excited to be back in Florida after most recently reporting for their sister station, Spectrum News in Buffalo. A graduate of Florida State, Fadia began her career in South Florida and her broadcasting career has taken her to New York, Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee. During her stop in Tennessee, she completed her Master’s degree in Communications at Middle Tennessee State University.
As an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists and National Association of Hispanic Journalists, Fadia served on the national and local level to mentor young journalists of color. Dedicated to helping others accomplish their goals, Fadia is also an adjunct professor at the Florida A&M University and writes her own aptly named blog entitled One Woman Bandit, which serves as a journal for her adventures as a multimedia journalist as well as provides insider information and helpful techniques that anyone can use to become a successful reporter. When Fadia isn’t working her beat, you can find her out and about engaged in the community and across the Tampa Bay area. Fadia is a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and in her downtime, this proud Florida State University Seminole can be found rooting on her alma mater!
